The last three games have seen the squad fall to 3-4 on the season dropping two divisional games against Southern Oregon University and the always pesky Wolves of Western Oregon University. The Pilots were however, able to bounce back and unleash some built up aggression on cross town rival Portland State University.
On the first day of Spring break the Pilots hosted the Raider Hawks of Southern Oregon University. Although SOU is a tough team, the Pilots have seen great success against them over the past few years. The game was a back and forth battle and in the end, some foolish penalties and stelar face off work by SOU left the Pilots stunned on their home turf with a final score of 13-11.
After what appeared to be a relaxing Spring break (at least as far as Instagram can show) the Pilots had Western Oregon University come to town for a rematch of the PNCLL final from a year ago. This was a much higher scoring affair but the Pilots fell on the wrong end of the final count. The wolves of WOU were relentless and capitalized on a number of clearing mistakes leading to easy door step finishes. The dynamic coaching staff of WOU were able to use high quality strategizing to come out with the win with the final score of 20-11.
The Pilots bounced back against Portland State University winning in convincing fashion 23-4. Longsticks Ben Murphy and Matt “The Commodore” Perry saw solid minutes and played exceptionally well. Freshman Tyler “Donnie” Little tallied 2 goals on the day and Savon “Robo Cop” Sengsavanh found the back of the net and dropped a dime assist as well.
The Pilots have two weeks to prepare before hitting the road to play against divisional foes College of Idaho and Whitman College.
